Metromen Participate in Fit India Freedom Run

Kolkata : Metro officers, staff and their family  members  have been participating in the Fit India Freedom Run which has got underway throughout India from 15th August, 2020 in order to keep themselves fit. They have been participating in this run maintaining the social distancing norms.

Manoj Joshi, General Manager, Metro Railway has participated in this run and crossed 7 kms on 18.08.2020.  Fit India Freedom Run is conceived by the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, Govt. of India, to keep countrymen fit maintaining social distancing. The concept of this Freedom Run is that one can run/walk along a route of his/her choice , at a time that suits him/her. One can even take breaks during such run/walk.

A total of  2047 Metromen including senior officers have participated  in this Run and covered a total distance of 6278 kms from 15.08.2020 to 22.08.2020. This Run will continue till 2nd October, 2020. In the coming days officers and staff will take part in this run on different dates.

Famous sports persons like Shreya Ghosh, Moumita Dutta both Table Tennis players , Ranji cricketers, footballers who  have represented India in international tournaments, gymnasts, chess players,  who  are  part of the Metro family have also enthusiastically participated in this run.

Smt. Dipti Joshi, President, Metro Railway Women’s Welfare Organisation has been playing an active role and encouraging all Metromen to participate in this run.
